Revit Addin RemoveEmptyTags from dp Stuff utils

And again back to the issue of how to remove empty tags in Revit 2013. Looking at the my blog’s traffic it seems like the Find and Delete Empty Tags Revit Python script has generated some interest. I actually do use it a lot and it made sense for it to graduate from Revit script into a Revit addin RemoveEmptyTags and another addition to dp_Utils productivity tools, especially if there were quite a few people that found it useful.

So, this one works pretty much like the Python script with the addition of some user interface. You can chose whether you want to  remove empty tags from your active Revit view or from the whole Revit document (not recommended though). The rest is history… Enjoy!
As always you can download the installation files from the Free Stuff(Downloads) page or directly from this link.

PS And since I am a design technology blogger I am going to jump on the “Revit 2014 new features” bandwagon and share the links to Autodesk Revit 2014 page:

The find and delete empty tags seems to keep crashing my Revit MEP 2013. 🙁

      Hello Jose,
Sorry to hear that – and thanks for reporting the issue! I actually had a similar report on DeleteEmptyTags addin from another person – that it would crash on large files with a lot of tags. I haven’t been able to figure out yet what the problem was that is why I have not even released its 2014 version. I am going to look into this issue again and see what is going on there. Will keep you posted – sorry for the inconvenience!

        Oh, no problem!

Thanks so much for doing this– it’s definitely a great help to the Revit community that this even exists!
